He was born in Marietta Georgia, but he formative years took place in jungles of Southeast Asia. When he was 2, the family packed up and they moved to the Philippines where he spent some of the most tropical/volcanic/humid/rice-consuming years of his life. After that his family returned to our slightly less exotic existence back in the states. It is then cut to high-school where he quickly realized that he wasn't going to follow in the engineering footsteps of his father and grandfather, pursuing the path along the right side of his brain led him to the Savannah College of Art and Design where he spent some time exploring the world of fine art, but ultimately he decided to shift gears and explore the world of fine advertising. This brought him back to Atlanta where he entered the Creative Circus as a designer, but exited an art director. He was lucky enough to work for Jerry Cronin. Jerry Cronin took him under his meaty wing for several years where they ended up doing two agency stints together. He learned everything good about advertising from Jerry. Jerry taught him a lot of good stuff, valuable lessons were learned. All these years later, he still enjoying the advertising ride.
One of interesting Stephen Mcmennamy work on instagram is #combophoto. Which is using the ideas of juxtaposition by mixing two kinds of photo to create a new photo. Both photo used does not need to be related but must be linkabled. He combines pictures which elements that composed it have in theory nothing in common. Result is perfectly executed and give some humorous compositions.
